Reader Colleen Delany distinctly varies her voice for each of the characters, and her tones combined with Enright's prose take one to a balmy summer day spent outdoors, the excitement of combing through attic boxes on a rainy morning, or the thrill of jumping into a cool lake on a real "scorcher."
