Monday Mourning - Kathy Reichs (Cass)
Title: Monday Mourning Author: Kathy Reichs Genre: Mystery & Detective / General Format: Cassettes, 6 Cass. Synopsis: Temperance Brennan, forensic anthropologist for both North Carolina and Quebec, has come from Charlotte to Montreal during the bleak days of December to testify as an expert witness at a murder trial. She should be going over her notes, but instead she's digging in the basement of a pizza parlor. Not fun. Freezing cold. Crawling rats. And now, the skeletonized remains of three young women. How did they get there? When did they die? Review: Library Journal: This latest Tempe Brennan novel-the seventh in the series after Bare Bones-finds the forensic anthropologist in Montreal to testify in a murder case. Arriving a day early to prepare, she becomes caught up in a new investigation when three sets of human bones are discovered in the basement of a pizza parlor. Examining the remains, she discovers that the victims were Caucasian and female. Antique buttons found near the bodies lead Homicide Detective Claudel to believe that the remains are over a century old, but Tempe is not so convinced and investigates with the help of her friend Anne, who has come to visit while contemplating her marriage. Readers of the series will be pleased to see the relationship between Tempe and Detective Andrew Ryan develop further. Those not familiar with forensic anthropology mysteries just may become hooked. A sure winner; appropriate for most collections.
